... Flood Watch remains in effect through this afternoon...

The Flood Watch continues for

* a portion of northeast Montana... including the following
areas... central and southeast Phillips... central and southern
valley... Daniels... northern Phillips... northern valley and
southwest Phillips.

* Through this afternoon

* with already wet ground from yesterday and a forecast of
up to 2 inches of addition rainfall... the area will be
primed for possible flooding.

* With wet ground conditions expected... the high winds forecast
for today could cause issues with uprooting of trees.

* Water rises are also expected along Beaver Creek and the milk
and Poplar rivers this week due to the excessive rainfall.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.

... High Wind Warning remains in effect until 9 PM MDT this
evening...

A High Wind Warning remains in effect until 9 PM MDT this
evening.

* Timing... winds will increase through the morning with
strongest winds across the region expected during the
afternoon.

* Winds... 30 to 45 mph gusting to 60 mph at times.

* Impacts... unsecured items and property could be blown about
and high profile vehicles will have difficulty with
Crosswinds.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected
or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph or gusts
of 58 mph or more can lead to property damage.

Take action to secure trash cans... lawn furniture... and other
loose or lightweight outdoor objects. High winds can topple
trees... blow weakened roofs off houses... and down power lines.
