Areal Flood Advisory
Statement as of 5:17 AM MDT on May 29, 2015

The National Weather Service in Billings has issued a

* Flood Advisory for minor flooding in poor drainage areas for...
south central Big Horn County in south central Montana...
western Sheridan County in north central Wyoming...

* until 500 PM MDT Friday

* at 515 am MDT... moderate to heavy rain was falling along the
Bighorn Mountains. Minor street flooding is possible in Sheridan
and other communities early this morning. Creeks and streams in
the area are already running high and runoff from the overnight
rain will result in additional rises today. Some creeks and
streams will spill out of their banks and into low lying areas...
resulting in localized flooding today.

Rain will end by mid morning... but it will take some time for all of
the runoff to reach creeks and streams... so they will stay high and
in some cases keep rising well after the rain ends.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Do not attempt to travel across flooded roads. Find alternate routes.
It takes only a few inches of swiftly flowing water to carry vehicles
away.
