Thunderstorms are moving into the northwest Twin City Metro area. A line of thunderstorms with torential rainfall...small hail and brief strong wind gusts between 45 and 55 mph are moving across parts of central and eastern Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin this evening. The heaviest rain fall rates are up to an inch an hour between the Twin City Metro and Lake Mille lacs...and west towards St cloud...Dassel Cokato...Hutchinson...Olivia...to Redwood Falls and Slayton. These storms are racing to the northeast at 40 mph and at the same time the whole line is drifting to the east at 15 mph...away from St cloud and towards the Twin City Metro area. They will persist through about 1000 PM...across the Metro area. After the rains begin they will last a couple hours...expect street flooding from blustery wind driven heavy rain.
