Winter Weather Advisory
Issued: 10:21 PM CST Feb. 7, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory in effect until noon CST Monday...

The National Weather Service in Sioux Falls has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for light snow and blowing snow... which is in
effect until noon CST Monday.

* Timing... light snow will gradually taper off through the night
but blowing snow will continue into Monday morning.

* Accumulations... accumulations of about a half an inch are
possible.

* Wind and visibility... northwest winds of 25 to 35 mph with gusts
to 50 mph will be likely through the night. With a half an inch
of new snow in many locations this will create reduced
visibility and slick driving conditions.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for blowing snow means that
visibilities will be limited due to strong winds blowing snow
around. Use caution when traveling... especially in open areas.

Wind Advisory
Issued: 8:53 PM CST Feb. 7, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Wind Advisory remains in effect until noon CST Monday...

* timing... the strongest winds should occur this afternoon and
evening... but windy conditions will continue through all of
Sunday night.

* Weather conditions... sustained wind speeds between 25 and 35 mph
are likely... with gusts to 45 mph. The gusty winds will decrease
slightly later tonight into Monday.

* Snow accumulations/impacts... snow showers are expected across
the advisory area this evening. With fresh accumulations up to
around an inch... areas of blowing snow may develop and lead to
lower visibility and travel difficulties through Monday morning.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory is issued when sustained winds are forecast to be
31 to 39 mph or gusts will range between 46 and 57 mph. Winds of
these magnitudes may cause minor property damage without extra
precautions. Motorists in high profile vehicles should use
caution until the winds subside.
