Areal Flood Warning
Statement as of 6:31 PM CDT on August 28, 2015

The National Weather Service in Des Moines has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
southeastern Webster County in central Iowa...
northern Story County in central Iowa...
southwestern Hardin County in central Iowa...
Hamilton County in central Iowa...
northeastern Greene County in west central Iowa...
northern Boone County in central Iowa...

* until 630 PM CDT Saturday

* at 623 PM CDT... local law enforcement reported flooding still
occurring across portions of the area after 5 to 9 inches of rain
fell this afternoon. The heavy rain has weakened and shifted off
to the east and flood waters are starting to stabilize or recede.
However... flooding of low lying rural roads and in towns may
remain an issue through the overnight hours. Small streams and
rivers will also remain elevated into Saturday.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Webster City... Story City... Roland... Jewell Junction... Gilbert...
Gowrie... Hubbard... Dayton... Stratford... Coalville... Zearing...
Radcliffe... Otho... Ellsworth... Stanhope... Lehigh... McCallsburg...
Harcourt... Paton and Kamrar.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams... as well as farm and country roads. Do not
attempt to travel across flooded roads. Find alternate routes.

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely. Move to higher ground.
