Areal Flood Advisory
Statement as of 7:01 AM CDT on September 05, 2015

The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
eastern Kankakee County in northeastern Illinois...
eastern Iroquois County in east central Illinois...
Newton County in northwestern Indiana...
western Benton County in northwestern Indiana...
Southern Lake County in northwestern Indiana...

* until 1000 am CDT/1100 am EDT/

* at 658 am CDT /758 am EDT/... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due
to thunderstorms. This will cause Urban and Small Stream flooding
in the advisory area. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen
mainly between Manteno and Bourbonnais in Kankakee County... and
Milford to Sheldon in Iroquois County. Thunderstorms were drifting
southeast and will continue to produce brief heavy downpours.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Kankakee... Bradley... Lowell... Manteno... Watseka... Momence...
Fowler... Kentland... Morocco... Stockland... Beaver City... Percy
Junction... Raub... Sumava Resorts... Enos... Dunnington... Perkins...
Freeland Park... Roselawn and Talbot.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your vehicle into
areas where the water covers the roadway. Flood waters are usually
deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful
enough to sweep vehicles off the Road. When encountering flooded
roads make the smart choice... turn around... dont drown.
