Areal Flood Watch
Statement as of 2:18 PM EDT on May 30, 2015

... Flood Watch in effect through Sunday morning...

The National Weather Service in northern Indiana has issued a

* Flood Watch for portions of northern Indiana and Northwest
Ohio... including the following areas... in northern Indiana...
Adams... Allen in... Blackford... Cass in... De Kalb... Grant...
Huntington... Miami... Wabash... Wells and Whitley. In Northwest
Ohio... Defiance... Fulton OH... Henry... Paulding... Van Wert and
Williams.

* Through Sunday morning

* several rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected this
afternoon through Sunday morning as an unusually moist airmass
combines with a frontal boundary and upper air disturbance.
Rainfall totals in the 2 to 3 inch range are expected across
much of the watch area... with locally higher amounts in excess
of 4 inches possible.

* Although antecedent conditions have been excessively dry this
month... rainfall totals in excess of 2 inches will bring a
threat of flooding... especially in urban areas including Fort
Wayne and Marion... as thunderstorms could produce torrential
downpours which could quickly lead to localized flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
