Winter Storm Warning
Statement as of 2:54 PM CST on March 04, 2015

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from 7 PM EST /6 PM
CST/ this evening to 1 PM EST /noon CST/ Thursday...

A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from 7 PM EST /6 PM CST/
this evening to 1 PM EST /noon CST/ Thursday.

* Timing: rain will transition to sleet early this evening. This
sleet then will then transition to snow... becoming heavy by late
evening and continuing through the night. Snow will end Thursday
morning.

* Accumulations: 4 to 7 inches of snow. Light ice accumulations
possible as well.

* Main impact: snow covered roads and dangerous travel conditions.
Snow rates may be intense... resulting in rapid accumulations and
low visibilities.

* Other impacts: north winds gusting up to 20 mph tonight. This
combined with the weight of the snow could result in scattered
power outages and downed tree limbs.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Travel will be treacherous with some roads nearly impassable.
Have an emergency kit of blankets... food... water and flashlights
if you must travel. Power outages are likely.
