... Flash Flood Watch now in effect through Saturday morning...

The Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for

* most of central Kentucky and south central Indiana

* through Saturday morning.

* Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms will continue
this afternoon... with locally torrential rainfall possible.
While coverage of showers and storms will decrease
tonight... there will still be a threat of local flooding
problems under any heavy downpours that do fall.

* Local rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches will be possible with
any storms this afternoon. In locations that have already
received heavy rainfall... even a brief downpour will likely
result in flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
