Watches & Warnings

Winter Weather Advisory
Issued: 9:33 PM CST Feb. 8, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM EST /5 PM
CST/ Tuesday...

* timing... snow showers will continue through at least Tuesday
afternoon.

* Main impact... periods of moderate to briefly heavy snow showers
will impact travel at times. Roads will become slick and snow
covered... especially secondary and untreated surfaces. 1 to 3
inches of snow accumulation is expected.

* Other impacts... gusty winds along with moderate snow showers
may reduce visibility at times. Also wet roadways may become
slick overnight as temperatures drop.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Research shows that more traffic accidents occur with an inch or
less of snow... before drivers realize that traction is reduced.
Don't become a statistic... slow down and leave extra distance
between vehicles.
