* At 01 PM Friday the stage was 20.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Maximum forecast stage of 23.8 feet Friday July 03.
* Flood stage is 21.0 feet.
* Forecast to rise above flood stage by Friday July 03 and continue
to rise to near 23.8 feet by Friday July 03.The river will fall
below flood stage by Saturday July 04.
* At 23.0 feet... low lying areas are flooding and businesses near the
creek may need to take flood precautions

* at 202 PM CDT... local emergency management officials have reported
that the little Tallahatchie river has overtopped its banks in
downtown New Albany. Several homes... businesses... and a jail are
flooded or imminently in danger of flash flooding. Water rescues
are likely to occur in the flash flood area. Radar estimates and
ground reports indicate that between 8 and 10 inches of rain has
occurred since this morning. Showers and thunderstorms will
produce an additional 1 to 3 inches of rain over the next 2 hours.

This is a flash flood emergency for Union County Mississippi
including New Albany.
