Winter Storm Warning
Statement as of 5:45 AM CST on March 05, 2015

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until noon CST today...

* timing... through noon today.

* Accumulations... 1 to 3 inches of snow and sleet are expected
with the highest amounts closer to Interstate 40 and lowest
amounts near the Alabama border. Freezing rain accumulations
are expected to be around a tenth of an inch to a quarter of
an inch... with the higher amounts of ice farther to the
southeast.

* Main impact... a mix of freezing rain and sleet... which fell
for much of the night... with change to a mix of snow and sleet
before tapering off during the mid to late morning. This mixed
precipitation will create major travel impacts from late
Wednesday afternoon through early Friday afternoon.

* Other impacts... temperatures are likely to stay below freezing
through early Friday afternoon. This will likely keep many
roadways slick and hazardous for an extended period of time.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow...
sleet... and ice are expected or occurring. Strong winds are also
possible. This will make travel very hazardous or impossible.
