Special Statement
Statement as of 5:08 AM CST on March 04, 2015

... A significant winter storm will impact the region late tonight
and during Thursday...

A strong cold front will move across the region this evening... with
widespread rain expected. As temperatures steadily fall after the
front passes to the south... the rain will change to freezing rain
across the area after midnight Wednesday night and before daybreak
Thursday morning. A mix of freezing rain and sleet is possible
during Thursday morning. Lingering light snow and sleet will be
possible as colder air moves into the region late Thursday morning.

Ice accumulations of one tenth to up to one quarter of an inch are
expected by Thursday morning. Snow accumulations will range from a
trace to around one half of an inch during the day on Thursday. In
addition to the precipitation... north winds of 10 to 15 mph will
create wind chills in the teens on Thursday morning. Residents of the
Tennessee Valley should begin preparations now for this significant
winter storm.
