Flash Flood Watch
Statement as of 10:19 AM EDT on July 04, 2015

... Flash Flood Watch in effect through Sunday evening...

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has expanded the

* Flash Flood Watch to include portions of north central Georgia
and west central Georgia... including the following areas... in
north central Georgia... Clayton... Fayette... Henry... Newton and
Rockdale. In west central Georgia... Coweta and heard.

* Through Sunday evening

* periods of heavy rain will continue across north and central
Georgia through tonight and intermittently through Sunday
evening with an additional 1 to 3 inches of rainfall. Locally
higher amounts will be possible.

* Saturated soils from rainfall over the past few days along
with the additional rainfall expected may cause flash flooding
of roadways and especially around creeks... small streams... low
lying and urban areas.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
Turn around don't drown!

You should monitor future forecasts and be prepared to take
action should flash flood warnings be issued.
