... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 7 PM EST this
evening...

* locations... southeast West Virginia... east to the southern
Shenandoah Valley.

* Hazard types... sleet and snow.

* Accumulations... additional of 1 to 4 inches this afternoon.
Storm total 2 to 8 inches.

* Timing... snow ending by early evening.

* Impacts... hazardous travel conditions... with snow covered
roads.

* Winds... north 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

* Temperatures... falling through the 20s.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow and sleet means severe
winter weather conditions are expected or occurring. Significant
amounts of snow and sleet are forecast that will make travel
dangerous. Only travel in an emergency. If you must travel... keep

Areal Flood Warning
Statement as of 5:25 PM EST on March 05, 2015

The National Weather Service in Blacksburg has extended the

* Flood Warning for...
rain and snow melt in...
Summers County in southeastern West Virginia...
Greenbrier County in southeastern West Virginia...
Mercer County in southeastern West Virginia...
Monroe County in southeastern West Virginia...

* until 1145 PM EST Thursday

* at 523 PM EST... automated river gauges indicated that the
Bluestone river... and Indian Creek are in flood. The Greenbrier
River at Alderson is just under 3 feet below flood stage but the
river is rising.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Bluefield...
Princeton...
Lewisburg...
Hinton...
and White Sulphur Springs.

This includes the West Virginia state Fairgrounds.

No additional significant precipitation will occur and rivers should
be starting to crest and recede through this evening.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams... as well as farm and country roads. Do not
attempt to travel across flooded roads. Find alternate routes.

When it is safe to do so... please send your reports of flooding...
including mudslides or Road closures... to the National Weather
