... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 6 am to 10 PM
EST Thursday...

* locations... foothills and Piedmont of Virginia.

* Hazard types... sleet and snow.

* Accumulations... snow and sleet accumulation of up to 2 inches.

* Timing... rain will change to sleet after dawn Thursday in the
foothills... and around noon in Southside Virginia... then to
mainly snow during the course of the afternoon.

* Impacts... snow and sleet will lead to hazardous travel
conditions.

* Winds... north 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph.

* Temperatures... falling into the upper 20s to lower 30s
Thursday.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

This Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow and sleet
will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads
and limited visibilities... and use caution while driving.
