4 PM EST Thursday...

The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for snow... which is in effect from 4 PM this
afternoon to 4 PM EST Thursday. The Winter Storm Watch is no
longer in effect.

* Snow accumulations... 4 to 7 inches.

* Snow beginning... late this afternoon.

* Period of most intense snow... tonight into Thursday morning.

* Snow ending... Thursday afternoon.

* Impacts... hazardous travel conditions are expected due to snow
accumulation.

* Winds... northwest 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that snowfall will cause
travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and
limited visibility. Report snow accumulation to the National

The Flood Warning continues for
the Monongahela river near Charleroi.
* From this evening to Thursday evening... or until the warning is
cancelled.
* At 5:00 am Wednesday the stage was 17.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 28.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by this evening and continue to
rise to near 29.1 feet by tomorrow morning.The river will fall
below flood stage by tomorrow afternoon.
* Impact... at 29.0 feet... navigation suspended, lock out of service.

The Flood Watch continues for

* portions of western Maryland... east central Ohio...
Pennsylvania and West Virginia... including the following
areas... in western Maryland... Garrett. In east central Ohio...
Belmont... Guernsey... Harrison... Jefferson OH... Monroe...
Muskingum and Noble. In Pennsylvania... Allegheny... Armstrong...
   Beaver... Butler... Fayette... Fayette ridges... Greene...
Indiana... Washington... Westmoreland and Westmoreland ridges.
In West Virginia... Brooke... Hancock... Marion... Marshall...

* a half to an inch of additional rain is possible through the
watch period. The better chance for the higher totals is
expected to be along and south of the Interstate 70 corridor...
   where locally higher amounts toward 1.5 inches are possible.

* This rainfall combined with snow melt could cause flooding of
poor drainage areas and small streams... especially those
dammed by ice.

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding.

Be alert for possible flood warnings. Those living in areas prone
to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding
develop.

Moderate snow showers will be possible through 9am... bringing
down visibilities to under one mile at times and result in a quick
one to two inches of snow accumulation. Drivers are urged to
exercise caution this morning and allow for extra travel time if
possible.
