... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 7 am EST
Wednesday...

* locations... the central twin tiers to southern Finger Lakes
regions.

* Hazards... snow... freezing rain... and sleet.

* Accumulations... 1 to 2 inches of snow followed by a light
coating of ice.

* Timing... snow will change to sleet and freezing rain by late
afternoon. Sleet and freezing rain will become light and spotty
by late this evening.

* Temperatures... rising from the mid 20s this afternoon into the
low to mid 30s by Wednesday morning.

* Winds... south 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

* Impacts... untreated roads will become hazardous beginning this
afternoon. Minor tree damage and isolated power outages may
occur tonight due to the combination of ice and gusty winds.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow... sleet... or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.

... Wintry mix will taper off later this evening...

A mixture of sleet and freezing rain will continue for a while
longer this evening.

However... over much of the area... steadier precipitation will
diminish between 8 and 9 PM. Even after 9 PM... though... patchy
drizzle or freezing drizzle is possible.

Driving will still be hazardous on untreated surfaces.
