Statement as of 4:03 AM EST on March 03, 2015

... Winter Weather Advisory now in effect from 1 PM this afternoon
to 7 am EST Wednesday...

* locations... the central twin tiers to southern Finger Lakes regions.

* Hazards... snow... freezing rain... and sleet.

* Accumulations... a quick 1 to 2 inches of snow... followed up by a
tenth to quarter inch of ice.

* Timing... snow will develop early this afternoon... followed by a
switch to sleet and freezing rain late afternoon or early
evening. The wintry mix of sleet and freezing rain will continue
through much of tonight... becoming spotty rain Wednesday morning.

* Temperatures... rising from the 20s late today into the low to
mid 30s by Wednesday morning.

* Winds... south 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

* Impacts... untreated roads will become hazardous beginning this
afternoon. Minor tree damage and isolated power outages may
occur tonight due to the combination of ice and gusty winds.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow... sleet... or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.
