... Winter Storm Watch remains in effect from this evening through
Thursday evening...
... Winter Weather Advisory is cancelled...

The National Weather Service in New York has cancelled the Winter
Weather Advisory. Outside of some possible patchy freezing
drizzle this morning... rain is expected today.

* Locations... northern New London County Connecticut. Passaic and
western portions of Bergen and Essex counties New Jersey.

* Hazard types... heavy snow possible.

* Accumulations... snow accumulation of 3 to 6 inches tonight into
Thursday.

* Timing... rain mixes with sleet and snow before changing to all
snow this evening. Snow may be moderate at times late tonight
through Thursday morning... before tapering off late Thursday
afternoon into Thursday evening.

* Impacts... hazardous travel conditions are possible due to
greatly reduced visibilities and significant snow accumulations.

... Patchy freezing rain early this morning...

Most of the area is experiencing plain rain as temperatures are
above freezing but there are a few locations where temperatures
are at or slightly below freezing. This is presenting some
isolated areas with freezing rain. Roads will be slick and
slippery this morning so motorists should proceed with extra
caution and drive extra slowly.
