The Flood Warning continues for
the Connecticut River at Middle Haddam.
* Until Monday morning... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 10:55 am Saturday the stage was 7.3 feet.
* Flood stage is 7.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 7.5 feet by this
afternoon. The river will fall below flood stage Monday morning.
* Impact... at 8.0 feet... flooding is expected in low lying sections
along the Connecticut River from Wethersfield and Glastonbury
downstream through Cromwell, Middletown and Portland. Boating
interests should prepare for a period of swift river flows.

... Red flag warning remains in effect until 8 PM EDT this evening
for the tri-state area...

* affected area... New York City... northeast New Jersey... the lower
Hudson Valley... southern Connecticut... and Long Island.

* Winds... sustained winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts 25 to 30 mph.

* Relative humidity... 20 to 30 percent.

* Timing... through 8 PM this evening.

* Impacts... rapid fire spread if ignition occurs. A wind shift
is expected by this evening that may create additional hazards
for any ongoing fires.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are expected or occurring. A combination of strong winds... low
relative humidity... and dry fuels will create a significantly
elevated fire growth potential.
