central Franklin County in western Massachusetts...

* until 315 PM EDT

* at 217 PM EDT... Doppler radar indicated a severe thunderstorm
capable of producing quarter size hail and damaging winds in excess
of 60 mph. This storm was located over Deerfield... or 8 miles south
of Greenfield... and was moving south at 15 mph.

* Some locations impacted include...
Holyoke... Amherst... Northampton... Deerfield... Ludlow... South
Hadley... Easthampton... Belchertown... Montague... Granby...

At 148 PM EDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar was tracking a
strong thunderstorm over Greenfield... moving south at 10 mph.

Hail up to the size of peas and very heavy rainfall falling over an
area which received heavy rain yesterday... are possible with this
storm.
