National Weather Service Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Paola... moving southeast at 25 mph. Small hail... and winds around 50 mph are expected with this storm. Commercial storage building destroyed. Old hotel building lost part of its roof. 07/11/2009 0312 am Butler, Bates County. Thunderstorm wind damage, reported by trained spotter. Trees down. Law enforcement also reports a power outage.
