* Flood Warning for...
northeastern Oxford County in western Maine...
southern Somerset County in west central Maine...
Franklin County in western Maine...
* until 1015 PM EDT
* at 411 PM EDT Doppler radar showed heavy showers and thunderstorms
moving north across the same area of the foothills and mountains of
western Maine. Radar showed rainfall estimates of 1 to 2 inches so
far this afternoon. Heavy showers and thunderstorms will continue to
move across western Maine through the rest of the afternoon.
Rainfall may exceed an inch an hour with total rainfall amounts of 2
to 4 inches possible in many areas through the course of the
afternoon.
Additional rainfall is expected into the evening hours and this
could push totals to over 4 inches in some areas of central and
southern Somerset... Franklin and portions of eastern Oxford
counties.
This much rainfall will cause small streams to leave their banks.
Ponding of water on roads... especially at intersections and
underpasses... will lead to localized flooding.
Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely. Move to higher ground.
