An early season winter storm will bring heavy snow to south central Idaho today and tonight with total accumulations of 3 to 5 inches in the valleys... and 5 to 9 inches in the mountains. Heaviest amounts will be in southeastern Twin Falls County... decreasing to the north and west.
The wetness of the snow will limit blowing and drifting even though northwest winds of 10 to 20 mph will be blowing... but falling snow will reduce visibility to less than one mile at times.
A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow... are expected or occurring. Strong winds are also possible. This will make travel very hazardous or impossible.
