Temperatures Swing More Than 120 Degrees

A range of temperature extremes stretched across the nation Sunday, setting new record highs and record lows in many areas thanks to weather patterns that kept unseasonably warm conditions in place across most of the East Coast.

Arizona's Grand Canyon Airport observed a low temperature of 20 degrees below zero Fahrenheit Sunday, which appeared to match the previous record of 20 below set on Dec. 23, 1990, and Feb. 1 and 2, 1985.
Whether this is an all-time low for Grand Canyon Airport remains an open question, as records began there only in 1976.
