Alpine Slide, Zip Rider, Alpine Coaster, and Little Miners' Park
1310 Lowell Ave.
Park City, UT

In summer Park City Mountain Resort transforms itself into a mountain amusement park including attractions such as the Alpine Slide, Zip Rider, Alpine Coaster, and Little Miners' Park. The Alpine Slide begins with a chairlift ride up the mountain, then special sleds carry sliders down 3,000 feet of winding concrete and fiberglass track at speeds controlled by each rider. The Zip Rider is 60 seconds of adrenaline rush as riders strap into a harness suspended from a cable for a 500-foot vertical drop spanning 3,000 feet of track. The gravity-propelled Alpine Coaster (which operates year-round) lacks the inversion of traditional roller coasters, but zooms through mountainous twists and turns at speeds up to 35 mph. The Little Miners' Park has children's rides. There's also a miniature golf course, climbing wall, horseback riding, trampolines, a human maze, and lift-served mountain biking and hiking. www.parkcitymountain.com.

10 Sherwood Hills Resort
Sherwood Hills Resort

Wellsville, UT 84339

You can step out the front door for hiking or cross-country skiing, but don't worry—with a 9-hole golf course, an on-site spa, and postcard views out every window, creature comforts are never far away. With the best wine list on either side of the Wellsvilles and a menu of feel-good Italian fare, the European-style Belle Monte
