tin," this well-known fishing resort is a slice of heaven on the Rogue River, 7 mi upriver from Gold Beach. Owners Dirk and Laurie Van Zante believe that love is in the details, and do whatever is needed to provide the guest with a singular Northwest experience. All the units in this small establishment present rustic elegance. Some have hot tubs, others have fireplaces, and a few have both; private decks overlook the river. Two deluxe rooms feature outdoor soaking tubs with river views. Guided fishing trips and river activities here are popular, and nearby jet-boat excursions and world-class golf at Bandon Dunes are also draws. The restaurant (closed November-April) serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner; the last, open to nonguests (though reservations are hard to come by), consists of a five-course prix-fixe meal that changes nightly.

This playland for the nation's golfing elite is no stranger to well-heeled athletes flying in to North Bend on private jets to play on the resort's three distinct courses.
