Weather Summary
Weather Underground Forecast for Friday, May 24, 2013. The beginning of the tropical season in the Atlantic Ocean is just over a week away, and thus no tropical development is expected through the Atlantic Ocean on Friday.

The tail end of a cold front will move slowly through the Bahamas, bringing areas of showers and thunderstorms to the island chain and parts of southern Florida.

Drier weather farther to the west will greet the Gulf of Mexico, making the gulf the largest area of dry conditions in the tropical Atlantic Ocean.

Meanwhile, scattered showers and thunderstorms will persist through the heart of the Caribbean Sea, with the strongest thunderstorms just south of Hispaniola and Jamaica. Additional thunderstorms will be possible in the normal areas of Central America.

For South America, scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop in the Rio De Janeiro area, while mostly dry weather is likely for Paraguay, Uruguay, and musth of Argentina and Chile. These dry conditions will be due to a large high pressure system that will remain over the area.

Typical tropical showers and thunderstorms will also continue to develop in the northern third of the continent.

Rio De Janeiro will rise into the lower 70s(F)/lower 20s(C), while Buenos Aires will see temperatures in the lower 60s(F)/upper 10s(C). Santiago, Chile will rise into the lower 70s(F)/lower 20s(C).
