While tropical cyclone development is not anticipated in the tropical Atlantic Ocean, areas of active weather are expected in the Caribbean Sea and Central America. A trough of low pressure from the central Gulf of Mexico will move into the northwestern corner of the Caribbean Sea and will extend down through the western basin. The system will generate clusters of scattered to heavy rain showers in parts of the Yucatan Peninsula and western Cuba through the western basin. Areas along the coasts of Nicaragua and Costa Rica will experience the heaviest amounts of precipitation with thunderstorms. To the south, low pressure in northeastern Colombia will support rain shower development in the Panama. Finally, east winds will usher moisture across the Lesser Antilles, triggering increased cloud cover and chances of showers.

For South America, low pressure will support more showers in northeastern Argentina, Uruguay, and southeastern Brazil in Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina. Precipitation and thunderstorms are expected to spread in Rio de Janeiro and Espirito Santo during the day.

To the south, moist onshore flow will fuel more rain showers over southern Chile and Argentina, as a low pressure system passes to the south of the continent.
