at 11:05 p.M. PDT Tuesday 21 October 2014.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Wind warning for:
      Metro Vancouver
      Greater Victoria
      Sunshine Coast
      southern Gulf islands
      East Vancouver Island.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
==Discussion==

Strong winds that may cause damage are expected or occurring.

A developing low over the Pacific will move across the South Coast
tonight. Strong southeast winds of 70 to 80 km/h gusting to 90 have
developed over Metro Vancouver, Greater Victoria, the southern Gulf
islands, East Vancouver Island and the Sunshine Coast this evening
ahead of the low. Winds will ease overnight as the low moves into
the interior.

Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may
occur. Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or
damage. Avoid wooded areas to prevent injury from falling trees or
branches. Campers should move to sturdy shelters.

Environment Canada meteorologists will update alerts as required.
Please monitor local media or weatheradio. Email reports of severe
weather to pacificstorm(at)ec.Gc.CA or tweet with the hashtag (hash)bcstorm.

Rain, at times heavy, continues.

Heavy rainfall with amounts up to 60 mm by early Wednesday morning

possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.

Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.
