..hot and humid conditions continuing today with humidex values in 
the 40s this afternoon..

Hot and humid conditions will continue over southern Manitoba today 
as a warm southerly flow persists. Morning clouds will give way to 
sunny and hot conditions by midday with afternoon temperatures 
climbing into the 31 to 34c range and humidex values of 40 to 43c.

A cold front is expected to bring showers and thunderstorms Friday 
followed by cooler weather for the weekend into next week.

While extreme heat can put everyone at risk from heat illnesses, 
health risks are greatest for
- older adults
- infants and Young children
- people with chronic illnesses such as breathing difficulties, 
heart conditions or psychiatric illnesses
- people who work in the heat
- people who exercise in the heat
- people without access to air conditioning and
- homeless people.

Never leave people or pets in your care inside a parked vehicle or 
in direct sunlight.
