==Discussion==
increasing westerly winds will see thick smoke from the on-going
fires in northern Saskatchewan spread into central and northern
Manitoba beginning later this morning. Once again, substantial
reductions in visibilities and air quality readings are expected over
the area.

Further south, smoke continues to linger in parts of southwestern
Manitoba this morning as winds remain light. Gradual improvement for
the area is expected over the course of the day. In the Red River
valley and eastwards to the Ontario border, northerly winds behind a
cold front have already cleared out the smoke for the day. Relief is
expected to continue most of Tuesday as well, as southwesterly winds
keep the thickest plumes to the central and northern areas of the
province. However, the potential for widespread smoke returns to all
of southern Manitoba late Tuesday as winds turn northwesterly once
more.
