==Discussion==
an intense frontal system draped across the central coast this
morning will move slowly south today bringing rain at times heavy to
coastal British Columbia. The front will stall across the South Coast
on Monday.
Strong southeast winds of 50 to 70 km/h over exposed
coastal sections of west Vancouver Island..East Vancouver Island..
Sunshine Coast..the southern Gulf islands will ease this evening.
Strong southerly winds of 50 to 70 km/h will develop over Fraser
Valley - West including Abbotsford this evening.
Heavy rain associated with the front will continue over the South
Coast through Monday where over 80 to 200 mm can be expected with the
highest amounts over west Vancouver Island Howe Sound and near the
Northshore mountains.
Snow at Whistler will change over to rain early this afternoon.
An additional 5 to 10 cm of snow is expected at Whistler
before precipitation changes to rain. A rainfall warning may be
required for the Whistler region given the possibility of heavy
precipitation tonight and Monday.
