In the Tropics, Tropical Cyclone Hilwa in the Indian Ocean is likely to dissipate Thursday. No major landmass will be affected by this system. For the lastest tropical information, please visit http://www.wunderground.com/tropical/.

In northern Asia, a large trough of low pressure pressure over the Sea of Japan will continue to strengthen and move eastward. A plume of moisture associated with this system will bring moderate to heavy precipitation across southern Japan Thursday morning. Precipitation should start to decrease in the afternoon as the system moves to the east. However, some heavy precipitation could develop in far northern Honshu and Hokkaido later in the day and then slowly diminish through the night.

To the north of the trough, scattered snow showers are expected to continue across northern Korea Peninsula, and far northeastern China. Farther south, a stationary front will remain over Taiwan and southeastern China, bringing continued scattered precipitation.

Over Australia, a trough of low pressure will remain over northern Australia Thursday, keeping scattered showers and thunderstorms going. Across the south, a ridge of high pressure will continue to provide fair weather conditions.
