Weather Underground Forecast for Wednesday, June 19, 2013.

Unsettled weather continues in parts of northeastern Asia on Wednesday as an area of low pressure across central Honshu into the western Pacific Ocean. Winds wrapping around this system will draw ample moisture and energy from the southwest across the southern islands of Japan and will lead to moderate rain showers with areas of locally heavy rain and thunderstorms through the day. An associated frontal boundary will become nearly stationary as it extends back from this system across the southern tier of South Korea through Jiangsu and into Henan. Moisture pooling along this boundary will support light to moderate rain showers with possible thunderstorms through the day. Seoul will see drier conditions with mostly cloudy skies and a high near 88(F)/31(C) as showers develop to the south. Tokyo will see showers and chances of thunderstorms with little change in temperature as highs for the area remain near 82(F)/28(C).

Further south, expect a few showers with a sunny intervals to continue in the southeastern provinces of China from Guangdong through Zhejiang.

Elsewhere, Tropical Depression 4, located approximately 329 nautical miles eastward of Manila, Philippines will continue on a northward track toward the southern Ryukyu Islands on Wednesday. For Australia, a trough of low pressure will continue to trek eastward through Western Australia into South Australia. The system will support a patch of weakening showers that will slide southeastward from the interior of Western Australia into northwestern South Australia, as well as a few coastal showers in southern Western Australia. Meanwhile, onshore winds from the south will pick up along the Victoria and New South Wales coasts as the pressure gradient tightens between high pressure sliding east from the Great Australian Bight and low pressure over New Zealand. Expect light to moderate coastal showers in these areas through the day, especially near Sydney and Newcastle.
