More rain and snow is anticipated in Japan and parts of northeastern Asia on Tuesday as a complex low lifts from Hokkaido to the Sea of Okhotsk. As the system lifts northeastward precipitation in Kyushu and Shikoku will gradually taper down during the morning. Wrap around winds associated with this system will continue to fuel precipitation in central and northern Honshu and Hokkaido through the day. A colder airmass will spread into the region as the system departs, supporting precipitation to changeover into predominantly snow on Tuesday and Wednesday. Expect snow showers to spread into the Kuril Islands, the Sakhalin Peninsula, and southeastern Russia on Tuesday.

Behind this system, a cold dome of high pressure will dominate much of eastern China and the Korean Peninsula with fairly dry conditions and significantly cooler temperatures. Rain showers will accompany cooler temperatures in southeastern China, near Hong Kong.

For Australia, high pressure in the Great Australian Bight will dominate much of the nation with dry and calm conditions. Troughs of low pressure along the northern and eastern coasts will keep chances of showers and thunderstorms along the coasts of Northern Territory, Queensland, New South Wales, and Victoria.
