A cold front will become nearly stationary over the British Isles Thursday. A low pressure system will then develop off Ireland later in the day. Meanwhile, a ridge will build from the east, blocking this low pressure system to move northeast. As a result, expect light to moderate rain continuing across northern and central England and Ireland. Northern England should see rain diminishing by midday as the front drops south. However, unsettled weather will continue in Ireland into Friday.

In the Scandinavia, a strong ridge of high pressure will dominate across much of the region, providing mostly dry conditions. Although some light rain may develop over the Norway coast as a weakening cold front approaches.

In Central Europe, a low pressure system over eastern Germany and western Poland will slowly drop south and weaken Thursday. This should bring some light precipitation to parts of Central Europe.

Moving to the south, cool and unsettled weather continues across the Mediterranean Sea region from southern Italy to portions of southeastern Europe as a large area of low pressure remains in place.
