Predeal, Romania

Weather Underground Forecast for Friday, February 10, 2012. A very large ridge of high pressure will continue to dominate much of Europe on Friday. The strong system will remain centered over southwestern Russia and will span across Europe from Romania and Finland through much of Norway down through the Iberian Peninsula. While this system will keep many countries under generally dry and calm conditions, temperatures will remain cold with highs below normal averages.

This cold dome of high pressure sitting over much of the mainland will direct disturbances across the British Isles and to the coast of Norway on Friday. A pair of warm fronts will bring rain to Ireland and North Ireland and a mix of rain, freezing rain, and snow to the United Kingdom. Moisture with these system will be limited due the intensity of the blocking ridge of high pressure just east of these disturbances. To the north, sno showers will develop to the north of a warm front lifting through the Norwegian Sea, along the coast of northern Norway.

Finally, to the south, a storm system churning in the Tyrrhenian Sea will shift eastward through southern Italy. This system will bring another round of rain showers to parts of southern Italy and southern Greece, as well as a wide swath of snow showers to from northern Italy through the rest of the eastern Adriatic countries.
