Two weather features will bring active weather to northern Europe on Wednesday due to a strong low pressure system spinning in the Norwegian Sea. This will push one trough of low pressure over Scandinavia and into northwestern Russia. This will kick up scattered snow showers for most areas around the Baltic Sea. Oslo and Stockholm will see scattered rain and snow showers with overnight temperatures below freezing 32(F)/ 0(C), but daytime highs in the lower 40s(F)/ near 4(C). At the same time, the system will push another trough of low pressure over the British Isles, triggering scattered rain showers over Ireland and the United Kingdom. A cold front associated with this system will move over the English Channel, reaching into France, Belgium, and Germany by nightfall. Expect increasingly cloudy skies in London with highs in the mid-50s(F)/ lower teens(C), with rain showers developing in the afternoon. Dublin will see scattered showers throughout the day with highs also in the mid-50s(F)/ lower teens(C).

Just south of this system, a ridge of high pressure will cover most of central and eastern Europe as it stretches from the Bay of Biscay and into southeastern Russia. This will allow for dry conditions as it keeps moisture away to the south and north. Paris and Munich will see partly cloudy skies with highs in the mid-40s(F)/ near 6(C). Further south, a low pressure system spinning in the central Mediterranean Sea will advance southward. This will allow for high pressure and dry conditions to return to Italy and the countries surrounding the Adriatic Sea. Rome and Barcelona will be mostly sunny with highs in the upper 50s(F)/ near 16(C). Showers will persist across the eastern Mediterranean countries due to a warm front over the region. Thus, Athens will see scattered rain showers with highs near 60(F)/ 16(C).
