Weather Underground Forecast for Friday, November 13, 2009.

The remnants of tropical storm Ida will continue pushing up the East Coast and allow for wet weather over the Mid-Atlantic and New England on again on Friday. Flow around the system will pick up abundant moisture from the Atlatnic, spreading widespread scattered showers inland. Expect rainfall amounts between a half and a quarter of an inch. This slow moving system will allow for another day of coastal flooding as strong winds will continue creating high tides. Waters will remain 2-3 feet above normal along the coasts of the Carolinas and the Virginias. Expect cool and breezy conditions with highs remaining in the 50s along the East Coast with strong winds gusting up to 45 mph.

To the northeast, high pressure will hover over the Great Lakes and extend into the Northeast. Expect mostly sunny skies with highs reaching into the upper 50s in the Midwest, while the Ida pushes clouds into the Northeast, bringing cool conditions with highs in the 40s.

Meanwhile in the Plains, a low pressure system will advect in from the Rockies. This system will create a frontal boundary that will lead this system and stretch over the Northern Plains, moving into the Upper Midwest by evening. Expect cloudy skies to accompany this front with a few light showers. Highs will remain in the 50s in the North, while the South sees another pleasant day in the mid-70s.

Out West, a cold front will linger over the Pacific Northwest on Friday. As this system is not expected to advect eastward, it will bring another day of scattered showers with rainfall amounts near an inch, with 2-3 inches of snow in the mountains.

Temperatures in the Lower 48 states Thursday ranged from a low of 13 degrees at Saranac Lake, N.Y. to a high of 84 degrees at Tucson, Ariz.
