Weather Underground Forecast for Saturday, November 14, 2009.
Europe will see another dreary and wet day on Saturday as a strong low pressure system continues spinning over the British Isles. As this system obtains moisture from the North Atlantic Ocean, it will create a cold front with ample moisture associated and will track through France, Germany, Spain, and extend northward into Scandinavia. Expect scattered showers to develop along this front with heavy precipitation likely in Norway as the system obtains more moisture from the North Sea. London will see light showers throughout the day with highs in the lower 50s(F)/ lower teens(C), while Paris will see heavier rains with highs near 60(F)/ 16(C). Cool air from the north will allow for highs in the mid-30s(F)/ near 2(C) in Oslo, thus, scattered snow showers are expected.
To the south, this front will push cloudy skies over the western Mediterranean. Precipitation will not reach into the region, but Barcelona will see overcast skies and Rome will see patchy clouds, both with highs in the mid-60s(F)/ mid-teens(C).
A ridge of high pressure will build over eastern Europe and eastern Scandinavia which will bring a short break in wet weather. Expect sunny skies and cool conditions over the Saint Petersburg with highs near 35(C)/ 3(C). Meanwhile, a low pressure system will continue spinning over the Black Sea, which will push moisture into western Russia. Moscow will see light and scattered showers with highs in the lower 40s(F)/ 5(C).
