Wet weather will persist over the Gulf of Mexico on Friday as a strong low pressure system moves eastward through the region. This system will create a frontal boundary that will kick up scattered showers and thunderstorms over the Southeastern states and northeastern Mexico. A warm front will move through Florida and up the East Coast of the US, while a cold front will track southward down eastern Mexico and over the Yucatan Peninsula. Expect wet weather to also stretch into Cuba and the Greater Antilles, as well as into Guatemala and Honduras. However, the Lesser Antilles will remain drier with only a few afternoon sprinkles anticipates. To the south, weak onshore flow will persist over Panama and Costa Rica, allowing for light and scattered coastal showers over the region.
