Tropical Depression Soudelor will continue trekking westward from the Leizhou Peninsula through the Gulf of Tonkin toward northeastern Vietnam on Monday. Soudelor is expected to remain at tropical depression strength throughout it progression through the Gulf of Tonkin and will make landfall between Cam Pha and Thanh Hóa with winds up to 39 mph and 11 ft wave heights by Monday evening. Elsewhere, a low pressure system located over the northern tip of Japan will exit into the western Pacific Ocean on Monday. As this system exits, wrap around moisture from the Pacific will trigger areas of scattered thunderstorms with light to moderate showers throughout Japan.

Meanwhile, significant instability due to another strong low pressure system will produce unsettling weather as it stretches through northeastern China and the Korean Peninsula. Abundant moisture from the Yellow Sea will enhance instability along this system, yielding to heavy amounts of precipitation and thunderstorms in between Nanjing and Jinan, China. Heavy downpours are expected to reach Seoul by early Tuesday morning.

For Australia, a broad area of low pressure will push moisture across the south-central and southwestern shorelines of the nation, creating a chance for showers along the coasts of South Australia, Victoria, and New South Wales. Light showers may reach into southeastern Queensland, falling near Brisbane. The remainder of Australia will see dry conditions to a dominant ridge of high pressure.
