A low pressure system over the Sea of Japan will move northeast to the Sea of Okhotsk while bringing heavy rain and snow to portions of Japan and eastern Russia. Northern Japan will see the heaviest snowfall with up to 4 or 5 inches falling in some locations.

Over China, high pressure will keep skies clear north of Shanghai, though some cloud cover and even a few showers will likely develop south and west of the City. A few showers are also anticipated over Southeast Asia, with slightly more wet weather likely across western Indonesia. New Guinea will see showers and thunderstorms throughout the day, and some of these will spread south to the Cape York Peninsula. Elsewhere in Australia, generally dry conditions are anticipated, although the southern coastline will see some cloud cover and showers.

High pressure will cover most of New Zealand, keeping conditions warm and sunny, but a disturbance will move in from the south, bringing some wet weather to the South Island late in the day.
