Asia will see a break in wet weather as tropical storm activity is not anticipated over the Western Pacific on Wednesday. Relatively mild weather will move into the Sea of Japan as a ridge of high pressure builds over the region. The system will replace a relatively weak trough eastward and away from Japan. This will create moist onshore flow over northern Japan that will kick up overcast skies that may trigger a few scattered showers. Expect Tokyo to remain dry with patchy clouds and highs in the lower 50s(F)/ lower teens(C). The Korean Peninsula will also be dry on Wednesday with Seoul reaching into the lower 40s(F)/ near 4(C), with mostly sunny skies.

Moving over the East China Sea, a trough of lower pressure will hover over eastern China. This will pull moisture onshore from the South China and East China Seas, thus, scattered showers will develop along the coasts. Expect mostly cloudy skies in Shanghai with highs in the mid-50s(F)/ lower teens(C), while Hong Kong will see scattered showers throughout the day with highs approaching 70(F)/ 21(C). Elsewhere, high pressure will continue to dominate the rest of China, thus, Beijing will remain cool and sunny with highs near 40(F)/ 4(C).

In Australia, a trough of low pressure will push eastward, just south of the country as high pressure builds into the Great Australian Bight. The low pressure system will push moisture over Victoria and New South Whales, which is expected to create a front that will trigger scattered showers. Sydney will be rainy with highs near 70(F)/ 21(C), while the rest of the country remains warm and dry.
