Weather Underground Forecast for Sunday, May 19, 2013.
Areas of wet weather will persist for western Europe on Sunday, as a broad low pressure system continues spinning over the region. The system will continue pulling abundant moisture and energy in from the North Atlantic Ocean and the Bay of Biscay, allowing for showers and thunderstorms to spread across France, the Iberian Peninsula, and into northern Italy, Switzerland, and Germany. Expect heavier rainfall and stronger storms to develop at higher elevations. Rome will see a chance of showers with highs near 70(F)/ 21(C), while Barcelona will be partly cloudy with a chance of showers and highs in the mid-60s(F)/ upper teens(C). Paris will remain overcast and rainy with highs in the lower 60s(F)/ mid-teens(C).
To the north, the system that brought showers to the British Isles will continue rotating counter-clockwise around this larger low pressure system. This will move away from the British Isles to the southwest, allowing for drier conditions to return to the region. London will see decreasing chance of showers throughout the day with highs in the upper 60s(F)/ near 20(C), while Dublin will be partly cloudy with highs near 60(F)/ 16(C).
In the east, a system weakens as it moves eastward over eastern Europe and into northwestern Russia. This system will start the day over the Baltic Sea, bringing light rain showers to Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. Heavy rainfall and strong storms are not anticipated in these areas.
