... Showers and thunderstorms with locally heavy rains possible
Friday afternoon through Sunday...
The remnants of Hurricane Dolly will move to the northwest across
north central Mexico Friday... Saturday and Sunday with the wind
flow around the storm pushing very moist and unstable air into
southern New Mexico and western Texas. As a result showers and
thunderstorms will increase across the region Friday afternoon
with scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms continuing
through Saturday and possibly into Sunday.
Very heavy rains may fall with rainfall amounts exceeding 2
inches across a few areas. Flooding may therefore occur over
isolated locations.
If heavy rains fall in your area stay alert for rising
water... especially near arroyos... rivers a streams. Evacuate to
higher ground when near rising water and remember never to drive
or walk across water covered roads but instead seek alternate
routes of travel.
There is still some uncertainty concerning the path and movement
of Dolly so persons should listen to NOAA Weather Radio and local
television and radio stations for future weather updates.
