A few showers have developed in northern Illinois along a weak frontal boundary dropping south from Wisconsin this afternoon. By 300 PM these showers are expected to move into northern portions of Ogle...DeKalb...Kane...and Cook counties. They will continue to move south during the remainder of the afternoon...with brief heavy rain and perhaps a rumble of thunder possible.

... Showers with possible funnel clouds will affect DeKalb... Kane... northern Kendall... southeastern Ogle... southeastern Winnebago... southern Boone and southern McHenry counties...
At 358 PM CDT... showers with possible funnel clouds were located near Sycamore. The showers were moving southeast at 25 mph. Other showers were near south of Marengo Illinois... just southeast of Rockford and just east of Belvidere Illinois.
Some of the showers may produce funnel clouds or landspouts. These are not the tornadoes produced by larger supercell thunderstorms. However... if one of these funnel clouds or landspouts touches the ground... some minor damage could occur. If you see one of these funnel clouds... be prepared to seek shelter in a strong reinforced building.
