A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 PM MDT this
afternoon for heavy snow.
Snow beginning later this morning above 9000 feet will continue
through this afternoon as snow levels fall to 7500 feet by early
evening.
Expect 4 to 8 inches of snow through early this evening... with
locally higher amounts above 9000 feet. Expect heaviest snow along
the eastern slopes of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains over western
Colfax and western Mora counties... and across Interstate 25 from
Raton to the Colorado line at Raton Pass.
Snow will taper off rapidly by early evening to ease this winter
weather danger.
If planning to drive in the high country... or across mountain
passes... consider delaying travel if possible. If you must
drive... make sure your vehicle is ready for winter driving
conditions. Check the latest forecasts... statements... and Road
conditions before starting out... and leave plenty of time to get
where you are going today.
Remember... a Winter Storm Warning means severe winter weather
conditions are imminent or highly likely.
